Open the hood and take the radiator cap off your DCT Focus and hold it in the air. Have a friend drive the old car out from under the radiator cap. Have the dealer drive a shiny new Focus with 5 speed manual transmission under the radiator cap and screw it back down on the new car. Problem solved." MarcL.

Ford changed from the Mk1 Focus (LR model) to the all-new Mk2 Focus (LS model) in April of that year, so an early-build car will not be the same as the 2009 model, although a later-2005 one might be. Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 01 1.6 Faulty Engine Temperature Gauge. On a Motorway drive of about 100 miles, the temperature guage started increasing from the normal mid point towards the red point, this initially started happening when we reached crawling traffic and 2nd gear seemed to effect it the most.
