I upgraded from Keen low top hiking boots to these new Hoka Anacapa's. They provide excellent ankle support and have ankle padding on both the boot and the tongue. I see reviews mentioning ankle rub. You need to ensure that the tongue placement is set correctly. With the amount of padding, not sure about ankle rub.
